Dramatic images from the centre of Athens when the bad weather Daniel arrived show a citizen being rescued by passers-by in Vasilissis Sofias, at the height of Evangelismos Hospital.

The video shows a citizen lying down and being swept away by the “torrent” created on the main road. The man can be seen pummeled into the front of a car by the rushing waters.

Passers-by are rushing to help him, and one of them, in his efforts, was also in danger of being trapped until someone managed to give him a hand and pull him to the pavement.
