Same-sex legislation: Two different worlds at Syntagma (video-photos)

The legislation will be voted on in a few hours - With chants, members of church organizations oppose same-sex marriage - Flags, slogans from people of the LGBTQ community

Newsroom February 15 06:52

“Two worlds” are present at the Constitution, while the debate on marriage and family equality for same-sex couples is at its peak in parliament.

On one side, protesters against the bill on same-sex couples gathered, from earlier in the day, and on the other side, shortly afterwards, those in favour of the institutionalisation of marriage demonstrated.

On the one hand, opponents of the bill, which in a few hours will be the law of the land, gathered in front of the Monument of the Unknown Soldier with censers, the Bible, declaring for the umpteenth time their refusal.

On the other hand, shortly afterwards, members of the LGBT community gathered at the Constitution, speaking of a historic day.
