Activities, discussions and events in schools next week, from Monday 4 March to Friday 8 March 2024, are proposed by the Ministry of Education to raise awareness among students against School Violence.
According to a circular, signed by Deputy Minister of Education Zetta Makri, in view of the National Day against Violence in Schools (March 6), all school units are invited to devote two or more teaching hours by decision of the Teachers’ Association to activities, discussions, events in the coming week, from Monday, March 4 to Friday, March 8, 2024.
The content of the events can be book presentations, film screenings, art workshops, interactive talks or other events. The aim is to raise awareness of violence and bullying among children.

SUBJECT: National Day against Violence at School
6 March has been established as the National Day against Violence at School.
This day is an occasion for teachers, students and parents of schools throughout the country to exchange thoughts, information and ideas and to activate awareness-raising actions for the prevention and treatment of school violence and bullying that occurs among and against students, in order to reduce the channels of violence in the lives of minors and to prevent the negative consequences in their interpersonal relationships.
On the occasion of this day, schools in the country are invited to devote time, from Monday 4 March to Friday 8 March 2024, (two or more teaching hours by decision of the Teachers’ Association) to activities-discussions-events (e.g. book presentations, film screenings, art workshops, interactive talks, etc.) aimed at raising awareness on issues of violence and bullying.
It is noted that the circular of the Ministry of Education and Culture (No. 1008/GD4/05-01-2024) is in force: “Information on taking protective measures to reduce the transmission of respiratory infections”.
