Processes are underway for the changes the government is considering regarding ASEP and the completion times for recruitments.
As Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had indicated during the recent Cabinet meeting, “the most efficient state” is among our targeted priorities.
With the new governmental composition last Saturday, he plans a working meeting at the Ministry of Interior next Thursday focused on the new ASEP.
According to Ta Nea, three changes and an alternative are being considered for the new ASEP:
- Digital documentation: A new automated model for verifying submitted documentation is in the works.
- Hiring within 12 months: The government is exploring solutions by studying every stage of a hiring competition, which involves consultation with agency leaders on internal operational matters.
- The “cutter”: Starting from the next national written competition, a “cutter” will be implemented to reduce the number of positions successful candidates can choose from.
- The auxiliary scheme: Also under discussion is an alternative: the creation of a mini ASEP, meaning the scenario of forming an auxiliary organization to assist in managing the volume of recruitments, under the supervision of ASEP.
