Giorgios Vromolimou, the island of Bromolimos, is a beautiful island with crystal-clear cool waters, trees gazing out to sea, golden sand adorning the coast.
Skiathos is unique and ideal for a trip, family or solo, that has it all. Relaxation but also intense nightlife.
If you have planned a trip to the island in the coming weeks, make sure you have your own transport. Because the beaches of Skiathos are many and beautiful and worth getting to all of them. Here are the ones we picked out.
Megali Ammos
If your accommodation is in Skiathos town, this is probably where you’ll take your first dive on the island. It is less than 2 kilometers from the port of Skiathos and no more than 3 from the airport. The waters are shallow in the first fifteen meters, which makes Megali Ammos an ideal choice for families.
The left side is busier with beach bars and tavernas, while the right side is quieter. In any case, Megali Ammos is a pretty good choice to spend even the whole first day of your holiday in Skiathos.
Koukounaries
You’ve probably heard it even if you’ve never travelled to Skiathos. It is the most emblematic beach of the island: here the blue of the sea coexists harmoniously with the green of the trees. The trees literally reach right up to the waves, so even if you don’t find a sunbed or a seat at the beach bar, you’re sure to find plenty of shade.
The sand is golden and fine. Behind the beach, a forest of pine trees and next to it the lagoon of Strofylia. The area is protected by the Natura network as it is a refuge for migratory birds and has stolen the heart of those who have been visiting Skiathos for decades. It is worth spending a few hours enjoying a swim on the beach and then, wandering around the forest and the wetland.
Tsougria
You cannot come here with your car. You will reach this small island after a 15-minute boat trip from the port of Skiathos. Tsougria is lush green with pine trees “caressing” the shore many times. There are four beaches with lovely waters, and it is worth taking a look at the small church in memory of Saints Floros and Lavros. It was built to a design by the architect Alexandros Vogiatzis after being commissioned by the shipowner Thomas Epifaneiadis. And it seems to float.
Bromolymnos
The beach is relatively small, so you may find it difficult to find a sunbed or a place for your towel during the busy season. The waters are lovely. Vromolimnos attracts a lot of young people, and water sports enthusiasts will find what they are looking for here. Another advantage is that the beach is “protected” from the winds.
Lalaria
Lararia, one of the most impressive beaches of Skiathos. It is definitely one of a kind. It is one of the most unique and unique island in the world. When you arrive, you will see a landscape of wild beauty that does not resemble the greenery of the rest of the island. At the edge of the beach, a rock extends into the sea and forms a “gateway”, called Trypia Petra.
The beach owes its name to the round white pebbles, which the locals call lalaria. The relatively deep waters are crystal clear, and the view from the beach to the Aegean is breathtaking. It is advisable to come with your own umbrella and your own supplies as there are no facilities. Definitely, if you find yourself in Skiathos, you must visit it, as it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece.
Achladies
At a distance of 4 km from the town of Skiathos, this small seaside settlement with olive trees is located. Its beach is sheltered from the winds and the sea is shallow, which makes it suitable for families. There are a variety of facilities in the area with bars and restaurants.
Kastro
This very beautiful beach below the old medieval town on the north side of the island can be reached by walking a short distance from where you leave your vehicle or by boat. If you choose the former, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent view of the beach from above. If you come by boat, you will be rewarded with a view of the imposing castle above the beach. The beach has fine pebbles. The water is relatively cold, but crystal clear.
Agia Paraskevi
A short distance from the village of the same name is this organised beach. The sea is suitable for children and protected from the wind. If you want to avoid the crowds of other more famous beaches especially in the high season, this is a great choice for you.
