In an announcement, the management of the Organization calls the strike “surprising” and notes that “it was decided a few hours before the inauguration of the OASTH Electric Bus Charging Station, an important and significant project for the Organization and Thessaloniki as a whole.”The union announced the strike because the Ministry of Finance did not fully accept their demands for the signing of a Collective Labour Agreement at OASTH. It should be noted that a significant portion of the worker’s demands have been met, as they have been offered a 50% increase in benefits compared to the previous Collective Labour Agreement.
The management of OASTH said that “it will immediately exercise all legal measures to prevent the strike,” which can only result in inconvenience to the passengers, especially on a day when particularly high temperatures are expected.”
