Arrest warrants for attempted murder were issued, according to Cretalive, against the two Cretans identified as the perpetrators of the attack against the Greek-Canadian of Crete origin, Manolis Kakoulakis, who is still hospitalized at the Venizelion Hospital of Heraklion.
A 31-year-old from Zoniana and a 32-year-old from Gazi have been identified from the group that attacked the tourists’ family, resulting in the serious injury of the 49-year-old father.
According to Cretalive, the file forwarded to the judiciary was for dangerous bodily harm, but the competent prosecutor, after evaluating the material, brought a criminal prosecution against those involved in a felony for attempted manslaughter.
The case was referred to the investigating judge and developments are expected in the coming hours.
