Boeotia: Two Refusals and One Contradiction Led to the Arrest of the 32-Year-Old Who Reported a False Rape

The 32-year-old initially reported being abducted by four people, one of whom allegedly raped her – How she ended up confessing that her allegations were false

Newsroom July 26 12:12

The 32-year-old woman, who initially reported being the victim of abduction and rape in Antikira, eventually confessed under questioning from a psychologist that she had never been a victim of such crimes.

The woman refused examination by a forensic expert and a psychologist, and the contradictions in her statements raised concerns among the authorities.

The situation began on the evening of Wednesday (July 24, 2024), when the 32-year-old went to the Security Department and reported that she had been abducted by four individuals in a black car. She claimed they took her to a remote location near the beach of Agioi Isidoroi, where one of them raped her.

When asked why she had gone to the area, she claimed she was meeting someone she had met on TikTok.

How Authorities Realized the 32-Year-Old Was Lying

The report triggered an alert at the Boeotia Security Department, which started an investigation in the area to locate the car supposedly used by the perpetrators.

At the same time, as per procedure, they requested that the 32-year-old be examined by a forensic expert to scientifically document the rape. From the outset, for an unknown reason, the woman refused.

She was then asked to describe in detail the route taken by the perpetrators with her in the car. The woman contradicted herself repeatedly, providing different versions each time, which caused confusion.

When the police noticed inconsistencies in her testimony, they requested that she be examined by a psychologist. As with the forensic expert, the woman refused this examination as well. The police then sought the intervention of a prosecutor, who ordered an immediate psychological evaluation. During the examination and under the pressure of questioning, the woman admitted that she had never been abducted or raped and had fabricated the story.

It should be noted that after the alleged rape, the woman went alone to the Security Department to report the incident instead of calling 100 immediately. According to reports, she is divorced, and her ex-husband has custody of their child.
