“The targeting of Haniyeh is a heinous terrorist crime and a gross violation of laws and moral values,” said a Houthi representative, adding, “Netanyahu returned from America with a green light for assassinations. America is involved in everything that happens and must pay the price.”
Since November, the Yemeni rebels have launched drones and missiles targeting maritime traffic in the Red Sea and Israeli targets, stating they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians during the Gaza war.
Earlier this month, a deadly Houthi drone strike in Tel Aviv led to Israeli airstrikes on the port of Hodeidah, killing nine people and causing widespread destruction.
Airborne Missile Used in Haniyeh’s Assassination
Meanwhile, the Lebanese news site “al Mayadeen,” which supports Hezbollah, reported, citing an Iranian source, that the missile used to assassinate Haniyeh in a strike on a residence housing war veterans in Tehran was launched from another country, not from within Iran.
The Iranian state news agency, IRNA, stated that a “guided air missile” was used in Haniyeh’s assassination.
