“We have announced Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan, and we will be making more announcements,” Knight said in an interview with a BBC journalist at the Royal Television Society conference in London, noting that he initially wanted “Peaky Blinders” to be released as a book.
“It’s set during World War II, and it’s really good,” he added.
According to Deadline, Netflix gave the green light for the movie in June. Tom Harper will direct the film, with production shared by Steven Knight, Cillian Murphy, Caryn Mandabach, and Guy Heeley.
The movie will be made in collaboration with BBC Film, and filming will begin soon.
