New family tragedy has taken an even heavier toll this morning in Nuoro, Sardinia.
The gunman, 52-year-old Roberto Gleboni, a worker in a local industry, fatally shot his wife, 43, and his daughter Martina, 26, after an argument. He also severely wounded his mother, who lived in an adjacent apartment, and a neighbor, the owner of the house he was staying in, who had rushed to help.
His 11-year-old child died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The perpetrator, at the end of this killing spree, committed suicide.
The massacre began at the family’s home on Ichnusa Street, where Gleboni killed his wife and their daughter, Martina, while authorities say the couple was in the process of separating.
He then shot his other two sons, fatally wounding the 9-year-old, while the 14-year-old managed to survive, although he is in critical condition. Gleboni also shot a neighbor, 59-year-old Paolo Sana, who apparently intervened when he heard the shots and is too in critical condition.
Gleboni then went to the home of his 84-year-old mother, on Gonario Pina Street, where he shot her in the head, leaving her seriously injured. After completing his tragic act, he committed suicide using a 7.65mm caliber semi-automatic pistol, which he legally possessed for sporting use.
Authorities, alerted by neighbors, are now trying to reconstruct the dynamics of the events and the motives behind the massacre, while the investigation continues under the direction of Prefect Alessandra Nigro.

“You are the greatest love of my life,” daughter wrote of her father
Martina, the eldest daughter in the family, had recently graduated in 2022 and in her thesis dedication she had written about her father, calling him “the greatest love of my life”.
The profile picture she had chosen, from her law school graduation day, shows a photo surrounded by a laurel wreath and two dedications. One dedication was to her mother, with the words“who believed in me before I did“, while the other dedication was to her father: “The greatest love of my life.”
Martina and her mother also maintained Instagram profiles, but their accounts were private and not accessible by third parties. On her mother’s Facebook profile, the photo shehad chosen was a close-up portrait of her and Martina, which captures the special importance of the bond in a family now mired in the horror of a tragedy whose causes are still being investigated by authorities.
On Martina’s Facebook profile, where she had uploaded few photos, are images such as a heart made in the sand with small pebbles, a class photo with her fellow students, moments of joy with her friends, and a trip to an adventure park. After graduation, she had an internship at the Nuoro County Courthouse, according to reports.
