Aigialia: Following the 4.8 Richter earthquake 75 buildings declared temporarily uninhabitable

Municipality will find a housing solution

75 buildings in the municipality of Aigialia were declared temporarily  uninhabitable following last Friday’s earthquake of 4.5 Richter.

According to the mayor Mr. Thanasis Panagopoulos the houses are severely damaged.  As for their owners the mayor announced that the municipality will arrange for temporary housing.

At the same time the applications for building checks that have suffered damages surpass the 750 while the number is expected to increase even more.

Finally, the City Council with a unanimous decision council asks for the municipality of Aigialeia to be declared in a state of emergency and to be classified an earthquake stricken area.
