A cold wave is sweeping Canada and the northern United States, with Minnesota preparing for snow expected to reach 40 cm.
The cold air mass is expected to move towards the eastern coast by the end of the week. Temperatures in Calgary, Canada, dropped to -16 degrees Celsius, while Minneapolis experiences temperatures of -13.
Heavy snowfall is expected to take place in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan, while the US National Weather Service expects that snow will exceed 30cm.
Last January, a cold wave hit the US, with temperatures dropping to a record -50 Celsius, which hadn’t happened for two decades.
