Over 240 Hezbollah Rockets Hit Israel Today – 100 Within a Short Time The Israeli military forces reported that more than 240 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards northern Israel on Wednesday. Specifically in the afternoon, a barrage of 70 rockets was recorded towards the western Galilee, which struck away from populated areas. Another 30 rockets were launched shortly after, also without causing any damage. One person suffered light injuries from shattered glass in Western Galilee.

The IDF said the Iron Dome defense system intercepted many of the rockets. The military added that it responded with strikes on targets belonging to the Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon. This latest barrage came after a day of heightened tensions, with Israel carrying out airstrikes on targets in Syria and Lebanon following an Iranian missile attack on Israeli territory. The situation remains extremely volatile, with both sides continuing to exchange fire. Israel has warned that it will respond forcefully to any further attacks from Lebanon. Analysts say the new flare-up is the most serious escalation between Israel and Iran-backed forces since the 2006 Lebanon war. The potential for the conflict to spiral further remains a major concern in the region.

Biden Opposed to Possible Israeli Attack on Iran’s Nuclear Facilities U.S. President Joe Biden stated that the United States will not support a potential Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Biden emphasized that Israel’s response must be proportionate, while he also announced new sanctions against Iran. Biden’s statement represents a partial shift in Washington’s stance, a day after Iran attacks Israel.

On Tuesday, the U.S. had expressed support for Israel’s response to Iran. Concurrently, Germany, France, and Switzerland have called on their citizens to leave Iran, following the Iranian attack on Israel. The three countries are citing safety concerns in the region. The escalation of tensions in the Middle East comes after the terrorist attack in Tel Aviv, where 7 people were killed, including a 26-year-old Greek, Ionas Karousis. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, Hezbollah fired rockets targeting cities in northern Israel, further escalating the conflict. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Iran’s “axis of evil,” promising a harsh response. The situation remains extremely fragile in the region, as the reactions and retaliations between Israel and Iran continue.
