The 26 families of the victims of the railway tragedy in Tempe have expressed their strong opposition to the 15 euro concert at the Kallimarmaro, arguing that the revenue-generating nature of the event distorts its symbolism.
The symbolic significance of the event is based on the symbolic significance of the event.
Among the signatories of the statement are the families of Nikolaos and Dimitrios Plakias, who ask for respect to the memory of their loved ones.
In a joint statement, the families stress: “The revenue-generating nature of the concert unfortunately distorts the symbolism of the event, which should be none other than solidarity for our struggle.”
They add that “those who act on behalf of the families of the victims and address the public must first inform, take into account their opinion, and have their consent when referring to them.”
The statement by families of victims of the Tempe train accident
“We, the families of the victims of the Tempe train accident, are opposed to the conditions of public attendance at the concert at the Kallimarmaro on 11/10/24. We believe that raising public awareness of our struggle for vindication is not a ticket. We do not need anyone’s financial support. The moral support of Greek society is enough for us. Our struggle, either individually or jointly, has been for the last 19 months without drumbeat, continuous and substantial from the first moment the crime was committed.
We are clearly opposed to any ticketed event that involves our people. The revenue generating nature of the concert unfortunately distorts the symbolism of the event which should be none other than solidarity for our struggle. Those who act on behalf of the families of the victims and address the public must first inform, take into account their opinion and have their consent when referring to them.
