President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades will undergo heart surgery soon, Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides announced on Wednesday. In a written statement, Mr. Christodoulides says that President Anastasiades visited a medical center on Tuesday for a routine check up during which it was established that he will need to undergo surgery of the mitral valve of the heart.
