A new large fire, following yesterday’s blaze near the port of Piraeus that destroyed an abandoned building, is raging in the area.
Black smoke covered the sky of Nikaia in the afternoon, as the fire broke out again in an abandoned building at the intersection of Olympias and Thivon streets, near the General State Hospital of Nikaia.
Eighteen firefighters with five vehicles, as well as a special ladder truck, have been mobilized to extinguish it.
Traffic has been interrupted on Olympias Street due to the fire.
