According to an announcement released by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos met on Wednesday, November 19, with the board of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), an American Jewish organization.
During the meeting there was a discussion of regional and international developments, Greek-Israeli relations, and cooperation between organizations of the Greek and Jewish diasporas. Mr. Venizelos had the opportunity to brief his collocutors on developments in Greece, with emphasis on the economy and the prospects for trilateral cooperation between Greece, Cyprus and Israel.
Finally, Mr. Venizelos referred to the Greek government’s actions to combat anti-Semitism and highlighted the prospects for strengthening Greek-Israeli bilateral political and economic relations ahead of the 2nd Greek-Israeli High-Level Cooperation Council, which is set to take place in 2015, in Athens.
