Greek parliament president Evangelos Meimarakis stated on Thursday that it is not important to him “whether the next President of the Republic is centre-right or centre-left” as long as he is a good and prudent person.

Talking to the Greek service of the Huffington Post, Mr. Meimarakis underlined that what matters to him is that the next President is good, honest, a supporter of the unity of the Nation and accepted by the Greek people and the deputies.

“The citizens will vote for us if we lead the country out of the crisis, and not only if we manage to elect a President of the Republic,” he underlined.
