It seems that the GB Roof Garden restaurant of the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens, Greece, is on its way to acquiring a worldwide reputation.
The hotel with the amazing view was recently included in The Daily Meal’s third annual ranking of the 101 Best Hotel Restaurants Around the World, a “carefully curated collection of the world’s most exemplary hotel-based epicurean endeavors.”
The Daily Meal is a website that produces more culinary content than any other resource. The site’s passionate team canvasses the world to bring its readers the best food and drink experiences at all levels, highlighting the unifying aspects of food and drink and celebrating the people who create them.
The Greek hotel restaurant came in 92nd place on the list. “Open year-round for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, this rooftop restaurant overlooking Constitution Square offers sweeping views of the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill, Parliament, and Kallimarmaro Stadium, site of the first stadium-held Olympic Games, in 1896,” says The Daily Meal in the accompanying description.
The site also made specific reference to Michelin-starred chef Asterios Koustoudis who “emphasizes high-quality raw materials and slow cooking methods on his menu.”
The Daily Meal’s No 1 venue for 2014 is Epicure at Le Bristol in Paris, France.
