Milos: Among the world’s top destinations for conferences

Athens comes in 6th place in the top ten most popular conference and incentive travel destinations, with Paris at the top

Leading destinations for hosting conferences, events and incentive travel on a global scale include Milos, according to the Global Destination Index 2024, compiled by the largest global network of independent Destination Management Companies (DMCs) and specialist event service providers, Global DMC Partners.

Global DMC Partners’ rankings were based on reports and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) received for programs taking place in 2024 across the DMC partner network worldwide.

According to the list of destinations, Athens comes in at number six in the top ten most popular conference and incentive travel destinations, with Paris at the top, followed by Barcelona in second place, Amsterdam in third, London in fourth and Lisbon rounding out the top five. Madrid, Vienna, Rome and Berlin complete the top ten.

Greece is also present with its islands, such as Milos, Corfu and Aegina, which are among the top 7 secondary destinations for 2024. In this list, Japan is in first place, followed by Hawaii, Costa Rica, St. Lucia, Italy’s Emilia-Romagna Region (Bologna, Parma and Modena), the Greek islands (Corfu, Aegina, Milos) and cities in the western United States such as Minneapolis, Kansas and Louisville.
