A Christmas bazaar is organized by the Greek Anti-Cancer Society focused on research and experimental development and aimed at helping in cancer awareness. The annual bazaar, organized by the group’s Ladies Association, is to take place on December 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the society’s offices at 18 Tsocha Street in Athens. Call 210 382 6600.
American Community Schools bazaar is on December 5. Visitors can enjoy American candy and baked goods as well as shop at the booths full of Christmas presents. There are many fabulous prizes to be won and the little ones can also enjoy crafts and activities at the Kid’s Corner section. Bring an unwrapped toy to aid US marines and take part in the Toys for Tots program. Holiday carols are sung by student and there are also photo ops with Santa. Campion School’s Christmas bazaar on December 6 offers special Christmas presents to buy as well as delicious food and fun and games for students. There’s a silent auction with lots of surprises. Takes place from noon to 4 p.m. at Agios Ioulianis St. Palini.
Friends of Monte, a small town in Uganda, Africa, are organizing a Christmas Bazaar on December 12 and 13 at METApolis aimed at supporting the Monte School. The bazaar has a special Christmas photo booth and information stand as well as the typical things you fcan find at a bazaar. There is also tribal African music by Tribal West. The bazaar is open from 5-11 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday.

You can find all the usual attractions at the Anglican Church’s bazaar; Christmas food and wine, delicious cakes and preserves, gifts for all the family, Santa Claus, Christmas music, the best assortment of second-hand books in Greece, bargain clothes and items, and a new stall of British goods, and of course the brilliant raffle and other prizes to be won. In response to popular demand, the church will be holding what has now become an annual fixture in the Athens Christmas calendar, a singalong performance of Handel’s ‘Messiah’. This year they will be joined by members of the Ambitus Choir, Athens Singers and Deree College choirs. All are welcome, both singers and audience; scores available for purchase on the night or in advance by request. The Association of Friends of Children with Cancer ELPIDA is hosting its Christmas Bazaar at the Pentelikon Hotel (66 Diligianni Street, kefalari). At the Bazaar you’ll find jewellery, gift items, sweets, books, ornaments, linen as well as handicrafts made by the children, parents and volunteers from the Elpida hostel. Dromi Zois (Roads of Life) bazaar takes place from December 6-7 at the 87th School of Athens (58 Orfeos Street, Konstantinopoleos Street, Gazi, near Kerameikos metro station). Times are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and features all the usual things you can find at a bazaar such as sweets, gifts and used goods. The funds raised go towards helping the Greek muslim community of Thrace, immigrants and others in need.
