Vovousa is a village and a former community in the Ioannina regional unit in Epirus. It is located on the Aoos river and is one of the easternmost villages of Zagori, near the National park of Valia Kaida. The single arched stone bridge of Misios was built in 1748 with a donation by Alexis Mitsios from Vitsa. During the Greek War of Independence the village became impoverished due to Albanian raids and was nearly deserted. Another blow came on October 23, 1943, when Germans burnt down the village.
