TripAdvisor, the world’s larger travel site, announced on Tuesday the winners of its Travelers’ Choice awards for Destinations on the Rise.

The awards highlight 52 spots around the world that have seen the greatest increase in positive feedback and interest from the TripAdvisor community, year-over-year.

Limassol in Cyprus was named the top European destination on the rise by the popular travel site, followed by Bodrum in Turkey, Kazan in Russia, Cadiz in Spain, Minsk in Belarus, Giardini Naxos in Italy, Salerno in Italy, Karlovy Vary in Czech Republic, Bonifacio in France and Potsdam in Germany.

“Cyprus’ second-largest city appeals to a wide range of tourists, from those interested in sun and sand vacations to those who prefer to delve into the island’s culture at its museums and sites of archaeological interest,” writes TripAdvisor about this popular destination.

Travelers’ Choice Destinations on the Rise lists were also unveiled for Asia, USA, South America, and the South Pacific.

Classic New Jersey beach destination Wildwood now ranks as the top U.S. destination on the rise, while the rapidly developing Da Nang, Vietnam is the top spot in the world.

Award-winners were determined using an algorithm that primarily measured the year-over-year increase in positive TripAdvisor traveler review ratings on accommodations, restaurants, and attractions, across destinations worldwide, the site said in its annoucement.
