A state of alert was triggered in the Hellenic Police (ELAS) on Thursday afternoon when a 39-year-old man from Albania called the authorities and confessed that he had murdered his wife the previous Thursday.
According to reports, the man stated that he killed his wife with a hammer and hid her body in the attic of their home in Ampelokipoi.
The phone call was made shortly after 6 p.m., and police officers rushed to the scene to investigate the incident.
Upon entering the home, a strong odor was immediately noticeable. Black garbage bags were found in the attic, prompting the officers to notify the Homicide Division, which instructed them not to touch anything.
The husband told police that he killed her with a hammer and his bare hands out of jealousy, while the children were at school. In the days that followed, the children continued living in the house, unaware of the crime.
