A naked protest outside the United Nations building in Geneva was staged by members of the Ukrainian feminist protest organization Femen.

Two women in the organization, wearing the Ukrainian flag as garters, attempted to use chainsaws to destroy a giant wooden sculpture, resulting in police intervention. “Keep Russia out of the United Nations” and “F… Russia” were chanted as they sawed off the three-legged structure by Swiss artist Daniel Bercher, titled Broken Chair.

The work, which has become a landmark of Geneva, was designed to wake people up to the impact of minefields on civilians in war zones.

A Geneva police spokesman confirmed that four people were brought in for questioning in connection with the incident.

Since its founding in Kyiv in 2008, the Femen movement has become known in Europe for its protest events, usually topless, against sex tourism, homophobia, and religious institutions.
