Lawyer Christos Salales and his wife lived through moments of terror when five armed, masked men broke into their home in Acharnes and robbed them.
The robbers immobilized and gagged the couple, threatening them with guns. “There’s a Far West out here, a lawless Wild West in the area. They operate illegally. They grabbed me by the neck and immobilized me. In no time at all, they tied me up and gagged me, the same with my wife,” said Mr. Salales to STAR.
The couple was tied up for over an hour while the assailants searched the house for money and valuables. The perpetrators fled on a motorcycle and in a car.
“They were hardened criminals. They had pistols, they were organized and ready for anything. They had my face pressed down against the couch; I was gagged, unable to breathe. We have no protection or safety,” said Mr. Salales.
