The Directorate of Police for Western Attica planned and carried out a special police operation on the morning of Friday (10/01) in a settlement in Megara.
The operation involved officers from the aforementioned Directorate, with the assistance of officers from the OPKE (Special Repression Unit) of the Attica Crime Investigation and Resolution Directorate, the Directorate of Police Operations for Attica, the OEPTA (Special Traffic Police Unit) of the Attica Traffic Directorate, police dogs, and an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone).
The large-scale operation aimed to prevent and address all forms of illegal activity recorded in the settlement.
As part of the operation, a total of 10 individuals were arrested and charged with electricity theft. Additionally, traffic violations were recorded, including lack of a valid driver’s license, failure to use a helmet or seatbelt, and failure to use child car seats, among others.
Furthermore, a 36-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Megara Crime Investigation and Resolution Department. He had an outstanding conviction with an eight-year prison sentence for robbery and theft.
The arrested individuals were taken to the competent Prosecutorial Authorities.
