Mitsotakis on woke agenda: “I believe there are two sexes, male and female, that’s what biology dictates”

Hatzidakis: Greece is currently one of the strongest economic upheavals in Europe

His position on the rise of “hard” right parties and the woke agenda was outlined by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, during a discussion with Enrico Letta, President of the Jacques Delors Institute and former Prime Minister of Italy, at an event organized by the Hellenic American Chamber of Commerce.

Asked about the rise of “hard” right parties and the debate on the woke agenda, the Prime Minister said:

Yes, I happen to believe that there are two genders, male and female. That’s my personal view, that’s what biology dictates. Every country, however, is different. Various explanations have been offered about Donald Trump’s resounding return to the presidency. Certainly – I have commented on this – the extremes of woke current (wokism) in the US have resulted in the pendulum swinging in the opposite direction. I would like to point out that these extreme positions, which are, I believe, widespread on the liberal campuses of the leading American universities, have not appeared in Europe. I do not believe that we have this problem in Europe to justify a reaction against this particular agenda. This was primarily a phenomenon in the US. Undoubtedly, then, there is a trend in Europe and the US towards what we call the “hard” right. I believe that in Greece we have managed to contain it. This does not mean that there is not a significant percentage of people who vote for parties that are to the right of New Democracy. But these parties, in my opinion, are still parties that are on the margins. They certainly are not and will not be part of any potential coalition-building exercise in the future.
