“PPC The Butterfly Trail”: a unique experience of technology and imagination at Syntagma Square

A hi-tech "botanical garden" is currently operating at Syntagma Square and offers young and old a fantastic technology experience that, through fun, conveys important messages linking technology with environmental sensitivity

Newsroom January 29 03:00

An innovative Mixed Reality (Mixed Reality) experience is currently being presented at one of the most central locations in Athens, Syntagma Square. The “PPC The Butterfly Trail“ is an immersive experience that allows visitors to “hold” a digital butterfly with the help of their smartphone and will be open until February 12.

The interactive “exploration” set inside an impressive dome combines technology, nature, creativity, and entertainment as visitors are invited to learn the story of Dr. Pelegrin, an eccentric scientist and botanist who brought rare species of butterflies from the forests of Peru, creating a unique Virtual Reality “greenhouse” that began its journey from London. Visitors to ‘PPC The Butterfly Trail’ can use the immersive features using their smartphone to interact and play with the butterflies against the backdrop of a spectacular backdrop.

The process of entering this magical world is very simple. Visitors scan a QR code with their smartphone, can “feed” the chrysalises with nectar to transform them into butterflies with special colours and take a photo of them. At the end of the tour, visitors can take souvenir photos with the colourful butterflies in the specially designed area.
