The first day of 2025 MotoGP winter testing was anything but smooth for Jorge Martín. The reigning world champion had two crashes within the first few hours, both occurring in the opening corners.

The first incident saw the Spaniard fall off his Aprilia RS-GP at Turn 1. Fortunately, it wasn’t anything major, and he was able to return to his team’s garage without issue. The second crash, however, was far worse.

This was @88jorgemartin's awful highside in his first hours with the number 1 plate ?

He's at the hospital undergoing tests due to left foot and right hand pain. Updates will follow and in the meantime, we're sending our best wishes to the World Champ ?#MotoGP pic.twitter.com/2UQtHKOq1w

Martín suffered a brutal highside at Turn 2 just minutes later. The Spaniard was launched into the air and landed hard, first slamming his knee into the ground before hitting his head. The impact was so severe that it shattered his helmet visor.

The session was immediately red-flagged, with track marshals waving the red flags to halt proceedings. Martín was taken to a local hospital for medical examinations to determine if he had sustained any injuries or a concussion.

Up until the moment of his second and more violent crash, Martín was in 21st place on the timesheets, having completed 13 laps.
