The rise of Eurosceptics and the effect it will have on the results have raised people’s interest in today’s elections, with voters in many countries flocking to the polls even at this hour.

According to opinion polls, eurosceptic parties are generally expected to record a significant increase and strengthen their presence in the new European Parliament.

However, until now, in the countries that have already completed the electoral process, results vary greatly. Farage’s victory in Britain is considered a sure thing, as in local elections that were held concurrently he emerged as the big winner, “stealing” a large part of the power from both the ruling conservatives and the Labour party.

At the same time, things are not looking good for extreme right-wing eurosceptic Wilders in the Netherlands: Although the opinion polls placed him at the first place until thevert  last minute, according to the exit polls’ forecasts for the elections that were held on Thursday, he is ranked fourth with significant losses on his forces.

The first official results will be announced after the polls close in all countries, in accordance with the EU directive, at approximately 24:00 EET.
