Famous names that will enhance the ballots of the Movement of Democratic Socialists are sought by George Papandreou, who aims to create momentum for his party. Reportedly, he has looked into former footballer and AEK president Demis Nikolaidis, who has not responded yet.

Mr. Papandreou wants to focus on larger regions within the country, where his party will go up against important PASOK members. The latter are equipped with the ability to safeguard their existing voter pool and prevent “leaks” to the newly-founded party.
