Yorgos Avgeropoulos’ “Agora” is premiering in cinemas on January 15, coinciding with the pre-election period ahead of the January 25 elections. The film will screen at the historic “Alkyonis and Studio Theaters in downtown Athens as well as the Olympion Theater in Thessaloniki before being distributed to other cities.
The film is titled after the Agora, a central area in Ancient Greece where citizens participated in political, economic, athletic, artistic, spiritual and philosophical debate. The Agora, the heart of Democracy, has lost its initial meaning and is now just a place of commercial transactions.
