The woman suddenly came face to face with the intruder who had hidden under the bed

An unbelievable case played out March 24 at a home near Great Bend, Kansas, when a nanny was trying to put the children she was watching to bed. But one of them asked her to check for a “monster” under his bed. What followed is beyond imagination.

Local police said in a statement that the woman approached to allay the child’s fears when she suddenly came face to face with a man who had been hiding under the bed.

As the Guardian reports, a scuffle immediately ensued, in which one of the children was injured, and the unidentified man managed to escape before authorities arrived.

Suspect identified and arrested

According to police, the babysitter identified him as a 27-year-old man named Martin Villalobos Jr. who previously lived in that house. Authorities were able to locate him the next morning and after a short pursuit, they arrested him.

Severe indictment and remand

Villalobos faces a number of serious charges, including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, burglary, threats against children, obstructing a police officer and violating a restraining order. The offender is being held in jail.
