Greek scientists create virtual supermarket for Alzheimer’s patients

A virtual reality brain training game can detect mild cognitive impairment, a condition that often predates Alzheimer’s disease

Newsroom January 14 12:21

Greek researchers from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and the Center for Research and Technology Hellas/Information Technologies Institute (CERTH/ITI) have developed a virtual supermarket of cognitive training games that help detect mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Detecting MCI early on allows patients to enjoy a better quality of life and remain independent for longer. A number of MCI sufferers use computerized cognitive training games as an enjoyable means of exercising their brain.
