An alarm was sounded today in eastern Russia’s Vladimir Region after a powerful explosion rocked the Kirghiz region, according to TASS news agency and other Russian media outlets.
Regional governor Aleksandr Avdiyev said emergency response crews have rushed to the site of the explosion, without going into further details.
Russian media and Telegram channels affiliated with Russian intelligence agencies report that the explosion occurred at a military hardware storage site near the township of Barsovo.
The first official update from the Defense Ministry in Moscow says a fire broke out at a military base and resulted in a powerful explosion at an ammunition depot.
In the past, the area has been targeted by Ukrainian drones.
