In the 2nd round of the Madrid Open, Sakari defeated Wang 2-0 in Hill’s return.

The experienced coach who led Maria Sakari to two Grand Slam semifinals and to No. 3 in the world ranking has returned to her bench to help her rise back to the top of the world rankings.

The Greek tennis player, in her debut at the Madrid Open and in Hill’s second stint, triumphed 6-4, 7-6 (7) over China’s Xinyu Wang and advanced to the 2nd round.

The match lasted 2 hours and 8 minutes.
