A legislative measure aimed at facilitating the repatriation of Greek doctors from the United States will be submitted for a vote in Parliament next week, as announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during his speech at the “Prix Galien Greece 2025” awards ceremony at the Megaron Concert Hall on Thursday.
This initiative by the government responds to the complex bureaucratic processes currently faced by Greek doctors in the U.S. who seek to have their studies, specializations, and qualifications recognized.
Specifically, the new legislation will resolve the challenges surrounding the recognition of medical specialties and related qualifications acquired in the U.S. Greek doctors will now have the opportunity to automatically validate their medical specialties and qualifications by submitting an application to the Medical Association of Greece.
