Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Berlin, where he will meet with the new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The Greek Prime Minister is the first European leader to be received in the chancellery since the election of Merz.

According to government sources, the Greek side is focusing on the economy, investment, defence, bilateral trade, illegal immigration and the major issues on the European and international agenda. In this context, transatlantic relations, developments in Ukraine and the Middle East and competitiveness issues are expected to be discussed.

The program of Mitsotakis’ visit

The prime minister meets at 13:10 noon (Greek time) with Friedrich Merz, while they are expected to have a working lunch a few hours later. The two leaders will make statements to the press (14:30 GMT).

In the evening, Mitsotakis will speak as guest of honor at the annual conference of the Economic Council Germany (20:20), where he will be honored for the government’s reforms and the recovery of the Greek economy.
