Former Greek prime minister Constantine Mitsotakis was hospitalized on Sunday afternoon after suffering from two “fainting spells”, as per the exact words of a medical communiqué issued by his attending physicians.
He was taken to an Athens-area private hospital in the afternoon.
The nonagenarian Mitsotakis was seen earlier in the day in his native Hania, Crete, voting in the Sunday general election.
Despite his age, doctors reiterated in the evening that Mitsotakis is in excellent condition and that his hospitalization was ordered only for precautionary reasons.
