Mrs. Konstantopoulou was in Piraeus – with a cruise ship visible in the photo posted by Mr. Karanastasis – and the associations for commentary were relatively easy, with the first being “life on skates…”
However, those who did not stop at the smile and the (rarely) carefree image of the president noticed that she should have been wearing a helmet and driving on the right side of the roadway. Specifically, as per the MCC, it provides for electric scooters if there are no bike lanes, drivers must ride on the right edge of the roadway. The use of helmets is mandatory for vehicles travelling at speeds between 6 and 25 km/h, and a fine of €40 is provided for offenders.
