Modus Operandi

The trio visited bank branches in Elefsina and Aspropyrgos. One member entered the branch to observe customers. When a customer withdrew a large amount, the gang tailed the victim in a rented car.

  • When the victim stopped briefly, the 50‑year‑old suspect approached, smashed a window with a special key‑ring tool, and grabbed the bag of cash.
  • In one instance, they punctured a car tyre with homemade metal spikes so the driver would pull over and leave the cash inside, which they then stole.

After each theft, the suspects regularly wired large sums to their home country to hide the money trail.
