At least one person died Tuesday morning after a knife attack on employees of a German company in Mellrichstadt, a small town in Bavaria.
According to Bild, a man attacked four employees of a utility company with a knife, and the same source added that a 21-year-old German man was arrested at the scene.
The deceased was reportedly stabbed in the neck and upper body. Three others were injured, some of them seriously.
A police spokesman told Bild: “Treating the injured is our top priority, as is clarifying the exact circumstances of the crime. A police operation is currently underway in Mellrichstadt. Police and emergency services are in large numbers at the scene.”

Officers are now investigating the identity of the suspect and trying to establish a motive. It is not yet clear what his connection is to Überlandwerke Rhön, the utility company where the attack occurred.
