The race, which runs from July 6 to 12, is among the most challenging offshore races, with a total distance of 600 nautical miles. The course traverses most of the Aegean Sea, offering participants an experience that combines precision, endurance, and skill. The AEGEAN 600 has now established itself alongside historic world-class races such as the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, the Rolex Fastnet Race, and the Rolex Middle Sea Race.
As part of its partnership with AEGEAN 600, Rolex Greece organized a special event at the picturesque Mikrolimano, next to the sea. Special guests, customers, and friends of Rolex had the opportunity to attend an inspiring discussion entitled: “Exploring offshore racing”.
The centrepiece of the evening was Pavlos Kagialis, Olympic Bronze Medallist and leading Greek sailor, an athlete synonymous with perseverance, strategy, and seamanship. In a lively discussion with journalist Gerasimos Gerolymatos, he shared with the audience his journey: from his childhood and his first steps in sailing, to his influential collaboration with Panagiotis Mantis, which led to one of the most successful racing duos in the sport. The Olympic champion highlighted the elements that make the AEGEAN 600 a benchmark on the world sailing map, underlining the international character of the event thanks to the participation of many foreign-flagged boats. This dimension promotes the nautical identity of Greece and consolidates its position as a top destination for sailing events.
