Bloomberg: Group of eurozone technocrats headed to Athens

Bloomberg: Greek FinMin Varoufakis did not present anything concrete

Newsroom February 11 11:26

As expected Wednesday’s Eurogroup meeting ended with no deal.

According to a Bloomberg correspondent in Berlin, Greek FinMin Yanis Varoufakis did not present anything concrete.

The next step is for the Euroworking group experts, in cooperation with the Greek side, to study the government’s proposal in Athens.

The aim of this cooperation is to identify differences between the Greek proposal and the existing program, in order to hold final talks at Monday’s Eurogroup meeting.

Bloomberg quotes unidentified sources saying that Varoufakis presented his European counterparts with four basic, and very broad, principles for a new financial agreement plan.

“Greece wants an agreement that will provide financial stability, economic viability and debt restructuring, as well as addressing the humanitarian crisis in Greece,” was the comment attributed to Varoufakis.
