Jacob Elordi: First look revealed as Frankenstein’s monster

Guillermo del Toro’s "Frankenstein" premieres on Netflix in November 2025

Newsroom July 28 10:00

The first official image of Jacob Elordi as Frankenstein’s Monster has been released, offering a dramatic transformation of the actor in Guillermo del Toro’s highly anticipated adaptation of Frankenstein. The film is set to premiere on Netflix in November 2025.

“Jacob is the most perfect actor for the creature,” Guillermo del Toro tells VF. “And we have a supernaturally good connection. It’s like, very few words. Very few things I have to say, and he does it.”

With just four months to go before its debut, Vanity Fair unveiled an exclusive preview of the film on Monday, July 28, showcasing key characters in the gothic horror tale. In the newly released photo, Elordi appears nearly unrecognizable, clad in an elaborate costume with a hood and a mask obscuring half of his face.

Del Toro’s latest cinematic take on Mary Shelley’s classic novel centers on Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant yet hubristic scientist who creates life through a grotesque experiment—unleashing devastation upon himself and the tragic creature he brings into the world.
