Six Democrats and Republic senators tabled a bill with which they request the lifting of the embargo on Cuba. Said embargo has been in effect for half a century and follows two months after US President Barack Obama announced measures to smooth over relations between Washington and Havana.

This bill of law seeks to overrule previous laws which prohibited business relations between US citizens and Cuba.

However, the articles of law concerning human rights or claims of property from the Cuban government are not cancelled.

A series of law bills are being prepared in order to lift the limitations of trips and trade with Havana.
