Superhero contact lenses that allow wearers to zoom in and out were presented at the American Association of Advancement of Science at San Jose, California. These contain tiny aluminium telescopes that interact with specially designed glasses that allow you to zoom in with just a wink to the right eye and zoom out  with the left.

First developed by the US Defence Advance Research Projects Agency as super-thin cameras for aerial drones, thse lenses have been retooled as a possible solution for those with age related macular degeneration (loss of light receptors on the inner surface of the eye).

The rigid prototypes still alow light through the center of the lenses are bigger than traditional contacts.
