Ryanair’s Chief Commercial Officer David O’Brien on Tuesday detailed the budget airline’s plans to double passenger traffic through Thessaloniki’s Macedonia Airport by 2018.

At a press conference, O’Brien said the company’s aim is to increase the number of passengers travelling through Thessaloniki by 500,000 per year for the next three years.

If this goal is achieved, Greece is set to benefit from additional tourism-related revenue totalling three billion euros, he said, underlying that Macedonia Airport has huge potential for growth.
